The Green Venue Report is an industry-wide initiative to provide benchmarking data, catalyze best practice, and stimulate competition around global convention & exhibition center sustainability. The report aims to give insight and content to best practices, with real data showing trends across the facets of event and venue sustainability. We encourage all venues to participate in the survey regardless of where they may be on their “sustainability journey.”

More about Green Venue Report
To provide a significant, data-driven report, we first conduct an industry-wide survey of convention and exhibition centers around the world. The comprehensive survey seeks to aggregate information and data related to venue infrastructure, practices, programs, and initiatives.
The survey is comprised of roughly 140 questions as well as energy, water, waste data template that are vetted each year by an Advisory Board of Industry Sustainability Professionals. The survey is launched in March every year and closes by April 30.
All data is collected through the Greenview Portal and kept privately and securely. Data is stored year after year, making it easy for centers to update their answers. The data is never shared with other venues or sponsors. All data is reported anonymously in the final report.
The Individual Venue Benchmarking Report
Each participating venue receives an individual benchmark report. Benchmarking enables you to:
Measure the quality of your organizations’ policies, program, products, and strategies and compare results of other industry peers.
Determine areas of improvement, analyze, and understand how other organizations are able to achieve better performance.
Use information to improve and ultimately outperform your competitors.

The first annual Green Venue Report was released in 2014.
The Survey Model
Beginning in 2017, The Green Venue Survey and Report commenced an Advisory Board of Industry Sustainability Professionals to help strengthen the content of this project.
